Hiking: Hiking along the Jätafjord

Three different routes make it possible to choose between walking 8, 9 or 12 kilometers. The tour starts and ends at the bathing place in Jät. Markings and signs will guide your journey. The trail passes a nice bird observation/lookout tower by Lake Åsnen, as well as Jät’s old church, which is one of the Värend area’s best preserved Middle Age churches. The black-throated loon and the osprey are often seen in the area, while viper’s-grass, greater butterfly-orchid, and common bird’s-foot trefoil grow close to Sandvik. The trail is prepared by Jät’s village community. You can find more information in the book ÅSNEN Nature, National Park and Wildlife in South Sweden – a Travel Guide.
