Visiting Christmas markets is probably one of the best ways to get into the spirit!
Discover unique and genuine craftsmanship and shop for delicacies from the country’s best small-scale food craftsmen at the largest Christmas fair in the Nordic region: Smålandsjul at Huseby, November 9-17, 2019.
170 different exhibitors – skilled craftsmen, designers and exciting farm shops with homemade goodies – participate in eleven different premises. Every night, 500 outdoor torches and 200 Christmas trees are lit, spreading a fantastic and magical atmosphere around the whole estate. Enjoy the wonderful scents of aromatic juniper, live candles and great food.
The local association Vemboö Bygdegård invites you to a cosy Christmas market at Kärrasand, 23-24 November 2019 between 11-17 o’clock. Around 40 exhibitors, lottery, Christmas ”fika”, grilled sausages and much more. Santa will also make an appearance to greet all children.
Everyone is welcome to the annual Christmas fair in Urshult on Friday 29 November 2019.
Between 18.30-21.00, there are activities in the village and the shops are open with nice offers. There will be market stands on the bike path (between Södra vägen and Stationsvägen) where, among other things, school classes sell things. The evening ends with fireworks at the quay in Urshult at 21.15. An evening you do not want to miss.
About 40 exhibitors show and sell their handicrafts at the Christmas market in Kalvsviks Bygdegård 7-8 December 2019 between 10.00-16.00. There will be a food market with lots of great foods for the traditional Christmas table (julbord) and coffee and sandwiches with pickled herring for sale. The choir Joyvoice from Växjö will perform at 11.30 on the Saturday. Face painting between 14-16 on Saturday. Free admission.
A small-scale Christmas market where you can find all types of crafts; carpets, concrete crafts, honey, spices, knits, outdoor pots, alpaca products, woodwork, straw goats, wreaths, bead embroidery and much more.
There will also be mulled wine (glögg), gingerbread cookies and sausages for sale.

No Swedish Christmas is complete without a traditional julbord – a Christmas buffet including a variety of pickled herring and salmon, bread, ham, liver pâté, red beet salad, cheese, Janssons frestelse, dopp i grytan, meatballs, sausages, and cabbage… Then there’s dessert, of course! In November and December, several establishments offer julbord for companies and private individuals. The perfect way to discover Swedish delicacies!
