This nature reserve, on a 111 acres large area in the middle of lake Åsnen, comprises deciduous forest, orchards, marshes, pasture and a small lake in the northern part of the island Sirkön. The lake area contains an significant valuable and rich birdlife.
Around the small village of Hunshult on the Sirkön island you will find a number of orchards, mainly with different apple plantations. The woodlands on the island consist of beech and oak with elements of lime, maple, elm, birch, pine and spruce. There are also various marshes and wetlands.
