Toftåsa myr, Åsnen National Park

Toftåsa bog is in the southernmost part of Åsnen National Park. It smells of sun-warmed marsh Labrador tea and you almost get the feeling of being in truly northern latitudes. Cycle south from Getnö and turn right after about 2.5 km at the sign Vrigstad Gård. Continue just over 1 km and you will reach a rest area where you can park your bike. Follow the marked path, which initially follows the path you came on.
The hike is about 3 km round-trip.

National Park tour with cycling and hiking

This tour starts from Ålshult in its description, about 7 km south of Getnö. Wonderful experiences all on a single tour. A combination of gentle cycling, beautiful hiking on national park trails, breathtaking views and not least a visit to the Water Sprite’s Bath (Näckens badkar)! A nice arrangement is to take the road via Ålshult and take the opportunity to have a tasty lunch at Ålshults Handelsbod. On the way home, turn left when Banvallsleden reaches the road towards Getnö and then you have about 4.5 km back to Getnö. With a visit to Ålshult’s Handelsbod, the trip will be about 25 km round-trip.

Ålshults Handelsbod and Culturcafé

Ålshult is a wonderful meeting place for visitors and residents alike. What was once a stop for train passengers is today the relaxed and friendly Kulturcafé offering homemade ‘fika’ and food. There is also a shop and flea market for those who want to fill their bicycle basket. It is about 7 km to Ålshult from Getnö on an asphalt road. The road is beautiful and winding, but it is also quite narrow and shared with other traffic.

Paddling & E-biking

A full day trip with both paddling and e-biking! Paddle south from Getnö to Ålshults Handelsbod, a trip of about 8 km. Have lunch or ‘fika’ in Ålshult and cycle back to Getnö. The paddling is not difficult but be careful of the winds if you are inexperienced. The bike ride back to Getnö is 7 km on an asphalt road. The road is beautiful and winding, but it is also quite narrow and shared with other traffic. Pre-booking of canoes is required.
