A scenic road over bridges and past cultural environments and farm shops.
Sirkövägen runs straight through Åsnen, via peninsulas and islands connected by two bridges. This is a scenic road in the true sense of the word! The road is winding and quite narrow, and it runs past old environments and beautiful houses, through arches of sheer deciduous forest and shimmering pink meadow orchards, and there are lovely farm shops and cafés. Cars, motorcycles, motorhomes, cyclists and work vehicles share this stretch – so, slow down and show consideration for each other and everyone who lives along the road!
VRANKUNGE TRÄDGÅRD OCH CAFÉ
Vrankunge Trädgård has a café that serves food. Local produce and, not least, home baking, waffles, hearty sandwiches, classic lunch dishes and Småland boiled coffee. Flowers, berries and greens by season.
Åsnen National Park’s main entrance Sunnabron is located in the heart of fantastic deciduous forest and has been made easily accessible on foot. Put your bike by the car park and discover this part of the national park on foot! A short path leads you to weather buildings, barbecue places and a platform out on the water. If you continue along the path, you will reach Bjurkärr where there is another weather building and barbecue places. In Bjurkärr you can breathe in the clean air and look for rare, red-listed lichens and mosses, insects and other things that show the great variety of species found here. Look at the trees – the delicate tree lungwort, which needs clean air, grows on many of them!
Coffee with fantastic views! You can find Amy’s Kafé, known for its delicious shrimp sandwiches and wide selection of homemade goodies, at Mjölknabbens Camping, which overlooks Åsnen. Next door is Amy’s shop with self-service and long opening hours.
Wemboö Gårdsbutik offers interior decoration, home furnishings, photo art and garden items in a charming setting!

Malva farm grows, produces and sells! Juice, smoothies, marmalades, gift boxes and juice-taster kits. Here you can also buy ‘single juice’, that is juice based on only one apple variety. Award winning and KRAV certified!
A quiet family campsite directly by Åsnen with a very nice beach. Take the opportunity to have a coffee and an ice cream! In the summer, food is served.
Here you have a breathtaking view of parts of Åsnen’s island world. The view from Lunnabacken is one of Åsnen’s must-sees! The community centre arranges various activities during the year, including real traditional Midsummer celebrations.
Kurrebo
Kurrebo is a colourful place with cultivations and a breathtaking view of Åsnen’s island world. It has a café and vegetarian restaurant, exhibitions, a shop with plants, local products and art. Accommodation available in youth hostel and B&B.
The windmill was built in the 1890s but was destroyed in the Christmas storm of 1902. It was made operational again in 1958 and restored in 1987. Next to the mill there is a well-preserved stone cist, a burial form used more than 2000 years ago. Nearby there is also what is believed to have been a suicide precipice.
HWEM OLD CHURCH SITE
The first church or churches in Urshult were once located here and were then known as Hwam. A raised stone is a reminder of the oldest cemetery, and today there is a belfry, stone altar and stone cross on the site.
CHINA MUSEUM IN VÄSTERBOTORP
Arne & Pia’s China Museum. What started with the purchase of a platter from a schoolmistress has resulted in a large impressive collection of china objects. Admission SEK 30.

Åsnenrökeriet is a small-scale quality smokehouse with an adjacent farm shop. Eel, whitefish, char, pike-perch, pike, herring and many other types of fish are smoked, as well as game meat such as moose, wild boar, reindeer and bear. All the products are produced by Åsnenrökeriet through warm smoking, cold smoking, sauna smoking, pickling, preserving, boiling, oven baking, etc. Buy food here to ensure your dinner! Sometimes in the summer there is a pop-up cafe with good and tasty sandwiches.
At Klasamåla Gårdsmusteri they are passionate about cultivation and here you can buy ”Mamma Milla’s apple juice”. When the garden offers abundance, there are also flowers and vegetables for sale in the farm shop.
